My charger was dropped and when inserted to a phone it gave a sound, until the moment my phone can't recharge. Is there a simple way to troubleshoot that? Is it necessarilyd a hardware problem?

Hopefully it's just the charger. It worries me that you heard a sound when you inserted the charger though.
Do you know anyone who has the same charger you can try on your phone to see if it will work? If not, you can try going to one of your carrier's stores and see if they have a charger you can try. Most places like Radio Shack will give you your money back if you buy the charger and it won't charge your phone. It doesn't matter if the phone is broken or not. If it won't work and charge the phone, just tell them and most places will give you your money back.
There is also a chance that the charger was damaged and it may have harmed your phone when you inserted it. Hopefully that isn't the case and all you need is a new charger.
