Restore apps using Helium

I had to factory reset my phone as it was giving me weird wi-fi issue that I could not figure out. I backed up apps and data (at least I think so from the screen I saw at the time of back up) using Helium-free version. Since its a free version, it backed up everything on internal SD card.

Since its HTC One X, its internal memory and no SD card. I copied SD card on my PC using USB (mentioning every tiny details in case if that makes any difference).

Factory reset.

Copied all data back on the phone. Its just one folder called 'carbon'. (I am sure scratching my head why the developer did not change the name of the folder and the app only).

Now I try to restore using Helium and it says there are no backups. WTF? Can it not read the folder where it is?

Thanks for all help.

I have read (from the developer) that method might not always work. I know this won't help you now, but in the future, use the PC Download option. That lets you backup / restore via a web browser.

The thing is PC download is what I wanted, but I had only one option i.e. internal memory and thats what I did.

PC download is found in the overflow menu (I think that is what it is called). See attached screen shot. Sorry I don't know of how to remedy your current situation. Maybe someone will chime in who has a work around.

Are you sure you connected the device to helium desktop and re-enabled backups?

Move your backups off the phone again, or delete them if you are sure you have the backups safe on your computer.

Delete the carbon folder on your phone.

Launch the Helium app and make a random backup of any app you installed from the play market. Helium will create a new folder where it prefers.

Copy the contents of your backup folder into the new folder Helium created and try again, a reboot of the phone may be needed to get helium to rescan the folder after a cold boot.
