Restore cellphone to before

Lurker
When I turn on my cellphone it says “Welcome to your N818S”. Below that is “copy your data” and “set up as new”. When I tap “set up as new” it say’s “Get connected”

How do I get the phone to work as before without connecting to a network?

Could you take some pictures? Also, if it means connect to WiFi, then do that, but if you mean you can't, or don't want to, there should be a skip option.

What do you mean by "work as before"? To me that means "restore data", which sounds like the first option. But you are not choosing that option, and seem to want to start fresh without even connecting to a Google account.

So what is your actual plan, because it's not clear to me.

I have heard of phones that don't give you the option of using them without connecting to an account, but I've never met one myself. But if you were connected before I assume you will want to be again, so why do you not want to connect (since you don't seem to have an alternative)?

And if you really don't want to connect, what happens if you start the phone without a SIM (so it can't connect)?

What exactly did you do to get it to this screen in the first place?
Last posts from you was about adding contacts to your phone.
And if this is your first cellphone and you are 80 years old, please give the phone to someone who is knowledgeable and you trust to set this up for you.
We want to help but maybe it's time to think this option over before the phone becomes useless....
