Help Restored my 10.1 to factory..can't update firmware!

Hi,
My old galaxy 10.1 was acting wonky, so I backed up my data, and restored it to factory settings. The OS is now 4.0, and I can't update!

I tired OTA update, and I tried Kies, but both methods said no updates were available.

Any suggestions?

Vallyglenn,

Android 4.0 is the latest and, alas, last update the Samsung Galaxy Tab will receive. Android 4.0 is a fairly good version of Android. As long as you have the latest version of Google Play it should be compatible with virtually everything that later versions of Android support. I would prefer a later version for performance reasons; let's face it, the SGT isn't the fastest tablet out there, but I can live with Android 4.0.

If you really want a later version of Android you're going to have to resort to an alternative Android build, such as CyanogenMod (based on Android 4.2). CyanogenMod has been not been updated from 'nightly' status in over a year, so I'm pretty sure it's not going to be supported much further. I would love to have Android 4.4 for the SGT as it reduces the memory requirements and therefore would benefit the hardware nicely.
