Hi there, my Xperia Active phone recently packed up. Won't respond at all (besides vibrating briefly when I attempt to turn it on) or recognise when plugged into a computer. I managed to get a partial list of contacts that were saved to my sim card from before I had this phone but the entries that I made on this phone are missing.

I had partially backed up my phone a while ago (copying the contents onto my computer) but cannot find any contact lists on it. Just wanted to know a) where the contacts would have been stored and b) what I can do, if anything, to retrieve them?

I have read that they might be stored on a sqlite file but have no idea how to work with these.

Thanks,
Ray

How did you store the contacts? If they were Google contacts and syncing was enabled they will have been backed up to your Gmail account. Log in to Gmail from a browser and check the contacts, they may be there.

Otherwise, how exactly did you copy stuff to the computer? The contacts database is in the /data/data area, which you won't see as USB mass storage, so unless you used adb you are unlikely to have it.
