Help Reviving a phone after my kid spilled soap on it

3×5

Newbie
So, like the title of the thread says, my kid poured a mixture of water and castille soap all over my phone. I came in the room as he was doing it, and immediately took the battery out. I then disassembled the back of the phone and the detachable speaker, so I could see the circuit board. I poured 91% rubbing alcohol on everything, and let it dry overnight.

Today, the phone won't turn on. If I plug it into the wall, I will get a vibration, and an icon indicting that it's plugged in, but then it goes into a reboot loop.

If I hold volume up, home, and power, the phone will start to go into recovery mode, and then boot loop. However, if I hold volume down, home, and power, the phone will go into download mode, where it will stay. The phone doesn't boot loop from here.

So, what should I do? Should I take it back apart and put it in some rice? I saw that as a suggestion elsewhere. Or, is there another trick when you can't even get into recovery mode?

Thanks.

I would put it in rice. It certainly wouldn't hurt. Why did you added alcohol?

Never had need to use it..but you could try this.....

I think the damage has been done by putting alcohol on it...this leaves a residue that could cause shorts.
Rice is a bit of a wives tale...but I'm happy to be proved otherwise.

If it will boot into recovery / download it may be damage to the memory; hence why it won't boot any further or get stuck trying (boot loop)
