Reviving "dead" games

Is there any way to bring back games that it seems are no longer supported? Is there anyone interested in doing this? What would it take? If it's not possible to contact those behind the original, what can be done? I've noticed that there are some games which have apparently lapsed into oblivion despite their being playable, charming, challenging, and different.

I'm not a developer of course, but I guess you'd need the original source code in order to rebuild, modify, and do whatever else is needed. Usually a problem is that old unsupported games don't work on latest Android versions. Also some games need to connect to a server to download additional content before they can play, and if those servers are offline, they can't run.

I guess mostly Android but maybe Windows and Linux as well. I'm not sure how different the requirements are for them but I'm not a developer either. It's just kinda frustrating not being able to play them because nobody can be bothered to keep them going.
