Rezound vs Inc 4 for dummies

Hello! New user here looking for some average joe advice. I searched the forums, but didn't really find anything that catered to my exact question. I am upgrading from a dumbphone to a smartphone, with no real knowledge about what I can really do with a smartphone. For the average user, it seems like the Rezound offers a better deal, as it comes with the headphones and the memory card while the Incredible comes with better battery life, camera, processor, ics. Will me, being an average user, notice a difference between the Rezound and INC? Is the battery REALLY that bad on the Rezound if I am just listening to music, browsing the web, and things like that? Thanks for the help.

Welcome to the Android Forums, slredstorm17!
We are glad you have joined us here.:)

I have moved this thread to the 'device comparison' forum so that you can get some objective opinions on which might be the best choice for a first time smartphone user.

Welcome to the forums!
Engadget just completed their review of the IncLTE:
Droid Incredible 4G LTE review: Verizon gets an excellent smaller-sized Android phone -- Engadget
Battery life will be poor on both devices mostly because of LTE. The Rezound has a better (and larger) screen but the Inc's is no slouch at 275 DPI. True, you won't get the headphones with the Inc, but you'll still be able to benefit from the Beats audio if that interests you.
One of the great things about the Inc, is it comes with ICS and Sense 4 which (AFAIK), the Rezound is still waiting on. Both are great phones, but if you want a slightly smaller phone and the latest software, I'd give the edge to the Incredible 4G.

I'm also trying to decide on whether I want the Rezound or the Incredible 4g. I already signed up with Verizon with the Rezound, but now I'm second guessing myself. I chose the Rezound because at first glance it seemed more intuitive to me (when I was in the store I couldn't figure out how to get to settings without having a menu button; now I realize it's under apps). Also, the Rezound had better reviews than the Incredible 4G everywhere I looked.

But now I'm really not loving the size of the phone. I haven't liked it from day one, but I decided to give it a week to get used to it (I still have one week to swap/cancel without getting the early termination fee). I upgraded from a dumb phone and really wish the size was more comparable. The screen size is good for typing on the keyboard without a lot of mistakes, but the overall size of the phone makes it awkward for one-handed use with my small hands. I love the resolution/crispness of the screen and the high quality cameras, but I worry that ICS is the last update this phone will get and it will soon be obsolete.

The first call I ever made on the Rezound sounded crackly...another call just a couple days ago I kept hearing myself echoing. I don't know if this was a problem with the phone or the service.

I've had a couple of apps freeze up (one of them being the Verizon app to check usage...that one required rebooting the phone). Also, in the google play store sometimes when I choose an app to read more about, it gets stuck for a second in the transition from list view to info view of that app. Once again, not sure if this is a phone performance problem or just software.

I paired the phone with my car bluetooth and tried making a call. It took awhile for the listener to be able to hear me. She said I sounded kind of far off or something. I brought the phone closer to me and it was better. I covered the phone and she said it was muffled. It made me wonder whether the bluetooth was really working with the phone or if it was just going through the phone's microphone.

I'm going to miss some things about Sense 3.6 if I switch to Sense 4 (which comes on the Incredible), but I think the functionality of the phone itself is more important.

Here are the things that are important to me:
Dependable
Good call quality
Good camera
Good display
Manageable size
Works with car bluetooth
Software updates -- not necessarily every new version of Android (although that would be nice), but keeping up on bug fixes and what not; I don't want the phone to lose support a month after I buy it
Good web browsing experience
Good app experience
Good battery life

Based on this, which do you think is the better option for me personally?

Neither. Get the Razr Maxx. HTC phones have the worst battery life in the history of smart phones.
Thanks for your response, but I really don't trust Motorola. Also, size is probably my biggest issue with the Rezound, so I don't want to go to an even larger phone.

I've managed to get through the whole day on the Rezound with just charging it at night, so I guess I'm not a heavy user and maybe I shouldn't have listed "good battery life". I just threw that in at the bottom of the list because I don't want to have to charge in the middle of the day.

I've really got it narrowed down to just these two phones if I stick with Verizon. I was considering the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze on T-Mobile, but the screen isn't nearly as nice as the Rezound and Incredible. Also, I prefer the look of Sense to Touchwiz. I really think I like Sense 3.6 better than 4.0 -- I was sad to see the app carousel go and I thought the clock looked better in 3.6.

Wow, I seem to ramble a lot when I post here. Well just a little more to try to get to the information I need.

Dependable -- Which is the more dependable one overall? I know Rezound has been out longer and had more of a chance to prove itself... Any major problems yet with the Incredible?

Good call quality -- I've had crackly/muffled/echoing issues with the Rezound; Would you expect this to be about the same with the Incredible? Better? Worse?

Good camera -- they both have good rear cameras; I know the Incredible front camera is only VGA, but I don't think I would use it much... how bad are the VGA pics?

Good display -- both displays look great to me

Manageable size -- I already know I prefer the Incredible on this one

Works with car bluetooth -- had issues setting up for Rezound and bad call quality through the bluetooth; Would Incredible be just as bad?

Software updates -- not necessarily every new version of Android (although that would be nice), but keeping up on bug fixes and what not; I don't want the phone to lose support a month after I buy it -- Will HTC continue to support the Rezound? It's already been out for 9 or 10 months.

Good web browsing experience -- I've had issues with sites not loading (both in stock browser and chrome); Not sure if this is just a browser problem. Also, Google Play will sometimes get stuck on page transitions. Would these issues still appear on the Incredible?

Good app experience -- had MyVerizon app freeze so bad that I had to restart phone to use it. Also had a bluetooth file transfer app freeze up. Are these just problems with the apps or could the Incredible handle it better?
