Ribbon UI in Windows 8

Turns out Windows 8 will have the Ribbon UI as Explorer Replacement .
Not a fan of Ribbon .
Bad move from Microsoft .
But thats me .
What do you think folks ?

I've been using the last really stable build, 7989,and it doesn't look all that bad to me.

Using the RedPill enabler, though, and seeing the New TM, among other things, is beyond priceless....

TBH I can see why people were annoyed with it in office -- but I think the problem with office was years and years of terrible UI design that people got really used to and mastered. I think the ribbon as a UI idea is good, but I can see how people dont like it.

But it's not like Windows Explorer had much functionality to begin with. I welcome easier access to some stuff.

Personally I already use a custom toolbar called StExBar to add functionality to explorer. It's made buy the dev of TortoiseSVN.

As long as it's realizable/hide-able, I'm cool with it. It certainly should help non tech savvy people understand what they can do in explorer. And it will help unify the office experience.

I like the various programs that make the explorer toolbar look more like Mac OS type of launcher (but with my own flair of course).

The only problem is nothing actually worked well, there was always some hiccup or problem that came around the corner...
