Help Ringtone reverts to orignal automatically

My One X keeps changing its ringtone back to original (which is too quiet....quietly crap!!)
I keep selecting an mp3 (on my SD card).
It doesn't seem to be when I restart, or connect to PC.
Nor have I set special contact/group ringtones.
This never bothered me for 2 years on a Wildfire S.

Does this happen with any other ringtones you've tried or just this one?

Haven't tried any other, but its the one I used in last my last Wildfire S for 2 years, and several previous phones, so likely nothing wrong with file.

Are you running the new 4.0.4 update? I just noticed my ringtone has gone back to default haha

No, 4.03...and no update available for me (just checked), is this network (Vodafone in my case) dependent in UK?
And i haven't recently updated.
