Well my S3 finally gave up the ghost today.

A couple of weeks of lock ups, and being awoken in the middle of the night by the AMOLED screen showing the Boot splash screen whilst charging...

Well finally, it no longer turns on. No LED light when plugged in.... dead.

It's going into the 3 UK shop today. Booked in for repair.... My plan is they will replace teh motherboard and I will continue on with my S3 I guess.

Good luck! Hopefully they'll get you fixed and you'll be back up and running soon. Would suck to have one of the forums biggest posters move to a different device so soon.

What a bummer having to go through that. Won't they replace it directly with a new model?

On a positive note, since the phone is totally dead, they shouldn't be able to see your flash count ;)

Well its been locking up under data transfer and whilst the CPU is under strain. It was overclocked (but undervolted) so its not likely to be CPU damage but there is definitely something wrong with it. For info, I only overclocked to the same level that Samsung overclock the CPU to when they stuck it in the Note 2, so thats not an issue.

The booting to splash and the final death all happened whilst on AC so I think it may be an overheating issue.

I had triangle away installed but it always showed 0.

This couldnt have come at a worse time.

I have no internet at home, was using my s3
There was no loan phone at 3 so I have my old blackberry
This is network locked so I need to unlock it
A cash machine was tampered with and stole my card so I cant buy an unlock code.
To add a bank account to paypal to buy the code, they must call me on my phone, which as it is not locked, doesnt reeive calls. ARRGGGHHHHHHHH I hate stuff!

Ah that really sucks :( That is a pretty awful series of events, especially with your card. I hope it all gets sorted soon!

well they sent the card to my branch because my home address was too new.... but they confused my branch with one in Wales so its currently in another country....

managed to unlock my bb with a generator so can tether now at least

Wow, have you broken any mirrors lately or walked under a ladder? When it rains it pours, huh?

Hang in there! :(

oh this is only half of the bad luck ive had the last 6 weeks....

I'm glad we are more then a continent apart, I wouldn't want to be around you in a lightening storm! :)

But, these kind of trends swing one way for a while and then swing back, things will get better!

my line manager is in florida but we have weekly telephone meetings. we both use PoE IP telephones, so its quite feasible i can still contaminate you from here ;)

I'm still 3,000 miles from Florida, here in San Diego, so I'll take my chances! :D

Hey SUroot, any update on situation? I just had the same the problem with my phone (woke up with the phone in charger and completely dead, worked fine before going to sleep), and I'm also on a 24 month contract from Three UK. Do you think I should go to Three first or contact Samsung directly?

We have an office in San Jose and another in Nevada City. I've prtty much go you cornered musky ;)

Loay, I would always recommend contacting the carrier. You would probably get quicker service direct to Samsung but you want Three to be aware of all your issues so they can swap your handset if needs be. I've known people complain they have sent their handset in for repair x times and want something completely different. If you go through three, this is all recorded as evidence. If you went directly through Samsung, three would never know

hi SU,
new s3 instaleld yet?

i was thinking of flashing mine with that rom you were using, but im holding off for now :/

I used it for Months. My issue wasn't ROM related. It was hardware. I still haven't got my S3 back. Blackberry bold 9000...
