Ripping Blu-Ray disks

Any phone that supports USB storage devices via USB-OTG probably. A USB optical disc drive like, CD, DVD, or Blu-ray, would likely needs it's own power source to run it, as a phone may not provide enough power by OTG.

I've only had a Blu-ray once, that was in a Windows Vista laptop I bought 12 years ago. And long since gone now. I'm never going to get another Blu-ray now, because I wouldn't have anything to play on one.

I was thinking more screen resolution @mikedt

You can rip CDs using Windows Media Player on your computer to play albums on your phone.

I used a free program that would compress DVD movie info to 700mb size (cant remember the name) on my computer which were easily transfered to a microSD card on my phone.

I never did get over that whole 'convergence' thing Microsoft started with Windows Mobile/PocketPC phones.

Which phones support 4k.
I thought blu-ray was 4k?

Sorry for rambling...

I'm looking for a program to convert the Blu-Ray disks I inadvertently bought for my home DVD player to a format that will work on Android phones.

First you will most likely need a pc for this with a bluray drive. Then you will need software to bypass the encryption on the disk. It is legal to make a digital copy of a disc you own for your own personal use as long as you keep the physical copy as well (in the US at least).

I used to use a program called Clonedvd for this purpose along with another called Anydvd. Not sure if they are still around. Handbrake is an option for ripping as well, but you'll still need something to decrypt the security features.

I didn't even know Blu-ray did 4k. But then it's a long time since I've taken any real interest in that format. Mainly because there's no Blu-ray in China. We have 4k and other HD content, but it's usually streamed or downloaded.

I ripped tge new How to train your dragon movie on mypc, however for blu rsy discs you need a drive tgat supports blu ray discs

Thanks folks. I have way more CDs and DVDs than Blu-Ray disks so for now I'm not upgrading to a Blu-Ray drive.

This is my setup...

So I'm basically plug and play. The CD/DVD drive is the black box on top.
