rmaps + google maps = good gps app?

Hi all,

I was just wondering if it was possible to use rmaps and google maps together as it seems:

rmaps = will follow me but no directions
google = will provide directions but won't follow the phone

Can they do both functions and I've not worked it out yet or is there another app that will do both?

Thanks in advance,

Rick:)

Google maps will follow the phone if you select "My Location" from the menu and do not touch or drag the map. Once the phone/map centers on your location, it will follow the phone as long as the map is not touched or moved. This is similar to the Auto Follow feature in Rmaps; if the map is moved after it has centered on your location, a notification shows up saying "Auto Follow Disabled". If you select "My Location" again from the menu, a notification appears saying "Auto Follow Enabled".

I just downloaded Rmaps recently and love the map cache feature for areas without signal, the ability to input POI (waypoints) using Lat/Long or MGRS (which I haven't been able to do in Google Maps), and being able to select different mapping software (great for satellite views). I haven't yet figured out how to get directions from point A to B; I'm not sure that the app has the capability. If or when it does, it will be the go to app for maps!
