Hello everyone, I found a way to get temporary 3g service from US Cellular with a Verizon Droid Incredible roaming on the US Cellular network. I live in Morgantown WV for school which happens to be part of the no Verizon service hole on the coverage map. My phone is always roaming US Cellular and getting 1x roaming data speed. It is slow. Very slow. Today I happened to come across a way to get temporary 3g service while roaming on us cellular. I accidentally hit the Airplane mode option, then noticed and turned Airplane mode off. I then got service back but instead of 1x it was 3g. I tried surfing the web and boom, 3g speeds. After a short while, my phone returned to 1x. Bummed, I tried the Airplane mode technique again. It worked. It works every time. Brief moment of breath for my Dinc, ahh 3g speeds. But it returns to 1x. Does anyone know how I can fool my phone into receiving 3g US cellular roaming permanently? Has anyone else seen this awesome trick?
