Anyone interested in using their bass guitar as a game controller now can. Rocksmith released bass DLC for XBox and PS3 yesterday for $29.99.
All the songs included on the Rocksmith guitar disc and all others downloaded from their respective markets include bass guitar option.
From what I've read, they're releasing another version of the game that includes bass guitar option on the disc in October. They also plan on releasing a PC version.
I haven't downloaded it yet so I don't know if it supports basses with more than four strings. I hope it supports at least 5 string.
