The link to the download the captcha does not work

You have to download media fire downloader from the play store, copy/paste the download link inside media fire downloaded, and you'll see a part where it says captcha, and you do the captcha that way, and it downloads.

So I resurrected my old account on here to express how excited I am that someone has decided to port over a cyanogen ROM to this phone. I've had it for a year now and I assume you guys are like me and grow bored with the stock ROM. It hasn't been too long since OP has commented so I'm really hoping this is in the works still. If it is, when it's done I will be eternally grateful (:

So I got bored and I decided to go ahead and flash it and mess around with it. Ita definitely not ready to be used as a daily driver but it seems pretty close. The freezing is a little more frequent than i had hoped and for me a functioning camera is a must. Other than that this ROM seems great so far. I just really hoped that this isn't abandoned again. I had been following the thread that this project was originly started in and I was pretty bummed when I found out it was cancelled. Anyways, if there's any updates on this and I know that flashing it correctly won't brick my phone, I would be glad to test it. I'm not a dev or anything, just a broke android enthusiast that's stuck with this phone for a while :p

I hope that if it is abandoned he'll at least tell us lol. I'm no programmer but I did a little tinkering of my own with the settings a stuff. I saw someone mention that the way it freezes and crashes is similar to when a phone is overclocked too high. So I underclocked it quite a bit but it didn't help. It actually crashed like five minutes after I did that lol. It confuses me as to why there is little to no modding community for this phone. Its not the best phone but it's been good to me for the price I paid and it could easily handle a newer version of Android.

It can defiantly use a newer version of android. I contacted AT&T a few months ago to see if we are ever going to get an update, they said so far no. I contacted ZTE Coporation twice, I haven't heard back from them. Tbh I don't think this phone will ever see an update OTA. So yeah. Hopefully something good will happen to this phone. Maybe you can they contacting some devs to see if they'll put some ROMs in for us zte mustang users to flash :l

I used to be a somewhat frequent visitor of a Modding forum for my last phone, I'll try messaging a couple people and see if they wouldn't mind checking out what this guy posted and finishing it. Yeah I highly doubt that our phone will get an update. Google only likes to update the really popular phones with newer versions of android. I love android but it's always annoyed me how they handle updates and stuff.

Also have you tried messaging the OP? I was gonna message him but I don't want to if you already have. Don't wanna come across naggy.

I went ahead and messaged him. The worst that could happen is he doesn't reply or he tells me that he is or isn't still working on it lol. I almost want to learn stuff about android development just to be able to fix this ROM lolol.

Is this the same exact rom from cyber? And on this rom does Sim work? If so I can use the kernel from this ROM in the rom from cyber. The freezing should be easy to fix. Is it just when you lock the screen?

I sent this ROM to cyber to see if he could fix it. If I recall correctly you can't log in to cyanogen and says you need to insert a sim card. This should be the same kernel as the one you've been working on. I had it freeze once when I tapped the Google search bar after using it for about ten minutes.

Well, I just flashed it and my sim card worked!! this is very good news! Im looking at the kernel for this rom right now and comparing it to the one in Cybers rom and looking for different fixes for the freezing mess.... Tried calling someone and I don't think they could hear me, didn't know whether it was my rom, or there phone. So ill look into that. Im not too worried about logging into cyanogenmod personally.. just want a stable base rom so we can start porting other roms over :) Idk why there isn't more dev support for the z998.. We need more people lol. the device really aint too shabby for such a low price.

That's exactly what I thought. I had a fusion 2 before this and it had a great modding community with like two or three dedicated developers. Once I got this phone the first thing I did was some research to see what ROMs were made for this phone and there was nothing. I've had it for a little over a year now and I'm glad it's finally getting some attention. Good job on getting the sim working, like I said if you ever need me to test a build let me know and I'd be happy to do it.
