Rom Manager Recovery mode problem

RotaryNut

Lurker
I recently downloaded Clockwork's Rom Manager off the android market and decided to use the "reboot into recovery mode" option it has. Instead, my LG Optimus P509 has rebooted, getting rid of all the apps I have installed before. Basically my phone was reset without ever entering any recovery mode. Has anyone else been experiencing this problem? I don't know if it's because of my phone or the app itself.

Hi, I'm having the same problem:

I have a LG Optimus T (P509) with android 2.2.2.
Rooted with gingerbreak 1.2 and backed up with titanium backup.

I tried installing the latest ROM Manager from the Market. Then I tried to "reboot into custom recovery mode" only to have it do a factory reset.

I've googled plenty of places trying to find a tutorial on how to backup my current stock rom (before implementing the custom rom's), but there appears to be a consensus that ROM Manager doesn't work well.

I was hoping to use ROM Manager since it seems so easy. Anyone know of any simple alternatives?

I have the identical problem. I have android 2.2.2 and used gingerbreak 1.2 to root. The problem may be with Clockworkmod recovery version 5. I tried reflashing version 3.1.0.0 in ROM Manager but cannot fix the problem. Any solutions yet?

I just experienced the same problems with Rom Manager and my phone. I noticed, in addition to RotoryNut's problem above, when I tried to backup my current ROM, the phone also rebooted and performed a factory reset.
android 2.2.2, kernel 3.6.32.9, software version LG-P509-v10s
