Log:
10/30 v1.0 released

10/30 v1.1 removed security script.

Thank you for this. Do I need to flash the ICS .cab or the OTA first, or can I just do A full wipe over [ALPHA] Quattrimus ICS and flash this?:D

Flash like any other ROM, with CWM.

This is not compatible with a locked boot loader, nor will it install a locked boot loader.

Well, you're right on one of those items.

Micro:
Please remove this script from /system/etc/
fota_post_boot_up.sh

This script installs the locked boot loader. Both unlocker scripts remove this file as a safety precaution and so should you. If that flag trips, the person running this will ROM suddenly gain a locked boot loader and a soft bricked phone.

How are the radios on this?

The radios would be in the v7 ota, so the best thing to do is start from a clean v6 without root or cwm, take the v7 ota (or install it using the LG software) then run the bootloader unlock tool, then boot into cwm, WIPE the phone in all ways you can, then flash this.

That way you'll have the v7 radios with the improvements.

Neph and team-Fine job. No hitches in using the bootloader tool and then the Rom. Great job and it runs smoothly and quickly. One benefit we have with the Spectrum is that it already has a quick cpu, and therefore, at least speaking for myself, over-clocking is not much of an issue, however over-bloating of factory software is.

Oh, thanks, will do on update. What would trigger that flag at this point since were unlocked now?

Rom should still run good I for now unless modded.

Is it possible to simply go into system/etc and remove the fota etc. without reflashing the update?

Let me clarify; I've flashed the original rom with no problems. If I go into System/etc and simply remove the script in question, will I have solved the same problem reflashing the update will have?

I'm on CWM touch recovery and blackplague 1.0, can I wipe and flash this or do I need to push the ics ota first? Thanks!

The benefit of the ICS update is new radio firmware. It supposedly gets you a better signal and better 4G locks.

You'll pretty much only get that if you take the official update. Or flash it some way.

In theory, it should only trigger on an OTA update flag, but I would rather not risk it and trouble shoot people having security error messages when we can just remove the script.

Okay so I just unrooted my phone, brought it back to a clean v6 (stock rom, stock recovery, factory reset, and all), installed the OTA ICS update, and re-rooted it using the official root method posted by PlayfulGod. I'd really like to install this debloated rom, but in the root thread ortrigger wrote,
No cwm. If you were to try you would find yourself with a brick on your hands. Locked bootloaders do that.
So how can I flash a custom rom if I'm not supposed to install CWM?

I posted that before we had an unlocked bootloader. You can use the tool in the root thread to unlock and it will install cwm for you also.
