I recently acquired a lg spectrum running 4.04 software version vs920zv8. Im wanting to root this as its a spare phone and would be great to learn with. I cant seem to find anything about rooting this running 4.04 already. Can anyone point me in the right direction. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Jesse

I tried several times to doewnload the file and it just taking me back to other screens with the same download over and over Like I dsaid im all new to this

Ok so I do have root now next question is how I go about adding superuser and different roms I hate to be so clueless but I have to start somewhere Again thanks for the patience and advice

Root should give you Superuser already. It's either located as an app under "S" section or in the "Settings" submenu towards the end (near "About" section). As far as ROM's, my favorite is CM10.2 nightly along with Gapps (google apps to give you Play store--choose 4.3 version 8/13/13 from goo.im). You need to have CWM or TWRP recoveries installed to flash roms. You can use the same tool mentioned above to unlock bootloader, obtain root, and flash CWM. TWRP can then be flashed over CWM if you prefer touch screen function with big buttons (2.6.3.0 is latest).
