Root Root Problem

So the other day I installed an app and it didn't request root access, so I dismissed the problem thinking it was a problem with the app.

Today I installed the Sixaxis Pair Tool app (an app that had worked previously) and it too did not request root access via superuser. I figured that was a bit odd seeing as how I had used it before so I went over to ES File Explorer, turned off root access and turned it back on to see what would happen and it told me that I couldn't do it (basically permission denied). So I thought that I might try to unroot and reroot my event. I opened up SRS One Click Android Root v4.7 - Ultimate Root Release and tried to unroot my phone (since I had used this application to root it and unroot it before) and it gave me this:

9:06:17 PM - Starting ADB Server..
9:06:22 PM - Manufacturer: kyocera
9:06:22 PM - Model: Event
9:06:23 PM - Android Version: 4.0.4
9:06:23 PM - Build ID: IML77
9:06:23 PM - Board ID: C5133
9:06:23 PM - Chipset Platform: msm7630_surf
9:06:23 PM - Getting OffSets.. : 0x8003 0xaac3 (False)
9:06:25 PM - Checking Root access: True

----= Start UnRoot Process.. Please Wait =----

9:06:25 PM [+] Remounting /system Filesystem as R/W..

9:06:26 PM Error: Failed to remount filesystem :(

So I saw the error and thought, "Hey, maybe a factory reset will fix this." So I proceeded to factory reset my phone and tried again.

I tried again and got the same exact error so I booted my event into stock system recovery and proceeded to wipe the cache and factory reset again.

After I did so. I tried unrooting again and got the above message error.

Whenever I click root, it tells me that my device is already rooted, yet no app can get superuser access (no notification even pops up).

At this point I really have no idea what to do, seeing as I can't reroot as far as I know. :(

If anyone can help, that would be greatly appreciated. :)

Ok, so I downloaded Kingo Root application and unrooted and it said success and now I have rerooted.

Hopefully my problem is fixed now. Wish me luck :)

Edit: So apparently Kingo doesn't work. It installed SuperSU but when Kingo connects to my device it says no root. I also redownloaded ES File Explorer and enabled Root Explorer and no request for superuser. When I launch SuperSU no apps are shown. FML

I started SRS again and clicked Root to see what would happen and it gave me this:

10:11:30 PM - Starting ADB Server..
10:11:36 PM - Manufacturer: kyocera
10:11:36 PM - Model: Event
10:11:36 PM - Android Version: 4.0.4
10:11:37 PM - Build ID: IML77
10:11:37 PM - Board ID: C5133
10:11:37 PM - Chipset Platform: msm7630_surf
10:11:37 PM - Getting OffSets.. : 0x8003 0xaac3 (False)

Then it just sits there....

Just went into SuperSu and unrooted via the app and rebooted.

Opened up SRS and clicked root. Gave me this after I went through the procedure:

10:23:34 PM - Starting ADB Server..
10:23:40 PM - Manufacturer: kyocera
10:23:40 PM - Model: Event

10:23:40 PM - Getting OffSets.. : 0x8003 0xaac3 (False)
10:23:42 PM - Query Server for Best Method.. Found Rootkit: 5

Then I opened up ES and toggled root explorer. Gave me error that it couldn't do it. I closed ES and opened my app drawer and scrolled through and there's no superuser app. :( WTF?

Just went to play store and downloaded Superuser and opened up ES and toggled Root Explorer. Superuser request popped up and I allowed it.

Hope my problem is fixed now... this was really annoying.

Its only partial root. Su and supersu don't work. You had root fully but only superuser app only works. Hope that helped
