Help Root Rogers i896 SGS 2.3.3 - possible?

Hey there.. I have been searching and trying different methods all day on trying to root my phone.

The SuperOneClick did not work. It worked great when I had 2.2 Froyo

z4root did not work when I picked 'Temporary Root'. I am scared to brick it if I choose 'Permanent Root'

Gingerbreak just hangs and says it is rooting it, but it doesn't. I have a external memory card mounted in it too.


I tried Odin, but It looks kinda confusing and I don't wanna brick my phone

I have a Samsung Galaxy S Captivate From Rogers Mobile (SGS-i896) running Gingerbread 2.3.3

bump? plus anyone have any issues with random rebooting since 2.3.3?

Have you learned anything since January? I'm in a similar situation. Rogers Samsung Captivate I-896 running official 2.3.3 from Samsung. I'd like to root. Any ideas?
