Root Root with no wipe or kernel changes now available here

I rooted using the ACS method/kernel. If I wanted to use this kernel instead, can I simply flash it over my existing version?

Yes. As per the thread, you can flash this over bubby kernel, but not over zedo. You can always odin flash the stock image which is now available on xda, then odin this.

so I just flashed back to the stock kernel and then flashed Stock Odexed with Root. Everything looks good.

With the last root method I tried, only last night did I start getting LOS messages which required rebooting. I didn't get it a lot though, so it wasn't a huge problem for me.

Hopefully with this new rooted stock everything with be smooth sailing from here.

I also don't know what the yellow triangle was all about, but I dont have that anymore either. Some people didnt like it. I dont know what it meant :P

Yeah its pretty much known now that the LOS issues are not caused by rooting this phone. Compared to my htc hero and htc evo 4g, the radio in the E4GT is just plain crap. Even my wifi signal blows by comparison. I'm hoping this is just a software problem and not hardware related. Sprint is saying its samsung's fault with software.. lets hope that is true.

I see that you rooted your Samsung G2S Epic 4G Touch. Can you please let me know how you like it and where I can find the required files? I would like to do the same for my phone as well.

Thank you

Having a rooted phone is great. If you follow the link in the first post, it takes you to the page that has all the files and instructions.

Phone behaves exactly the same as it did before root (as far as i know, I had it unrooted for only about 2 days), except now I have root privileges. I've used wifi tether a half a dozen times (my gf loves to tether her ipod to my 4g) and titanium backup is very useful. I also use widget locker as my lockscreen which gives extra features to root users.
