Welcome to Android Forums!

I found THIS and hope it helps.

Remember that root is a very powerful tool for advanced users. If you change or delete the wrong thing, your phone may "brick" and never work again. If you are going to root, make sure a custom recovery image is flashed and you know how to make a nandroid backup with it.

A nandroid is a snapshot image of your phone's current state, compressed and saved in a zip file on the SD card. If you delete the wrong thing or something bad happens, you can simply wipe the phone and restore the backup... it will be like nothing ever happened. But deleting things or changing system settings without a nandroid is very dangerous, in that a mistake may be unrecoverable.

Learn, learn, learn and read, read, read about root!

Good luck and it's great to have you here :)
