Root Rootable???

They1

Newbie
I've been trying to root my S7 device ever since it came out. Unfortunately, Kingroot never worked as I am still using it today. I am frustrated with making the decision to buy this junk. I've tried searching videos on YouTube, but none have any thing to do with my phone information. Is my phone rootable? If not, WILL it be soon?

Model: g930v
Carrier: Verizon
Version: 7.0
Bootloader: ?

I tried a similar method that required USB drivers and TWRP recovery. It hasn't worked. But I haven't tried that..

You'll be hard-pressed to get TWRP installed on a Verizon phone with a locked bootloader.

Although cf auto root doesn't give you a custom recovery. Just root access without the benefits of flashing from recovery.

I see my model in there however, my build ID doesn't match with the same ID.

Which part of the build id? The beginning shouldn't but the bit right after the . should be. My build id starts work ndg945d. the next thing is g950f (s8 here) ;)

That's your baseband and not your build id or model number. Baseband is irrelevant when it comes to flashing. I used to mix and match my baseband in the old days as some of the old gs4 basebands weren't up to scratch.
Alright. My goal would be to download that, flash it in odin, then what?

Well if all goes well then your phone should reboot into chainfires temp recovery, do it's thing and you'll be rooted. Remember though that you won't have a custom recovery. After it's done it's thing the recovery's the norm.

What is the point of a recovery and what does it do?

Root access lets you run apps which require root. Most root methods from the s6 up root by giving you a custom recovery. Cf auto root went back to the kernel level of the s3 or 4. You'll be able to run all the root apps, however since you don't have a custom recovery you won't be able to flash any custom ROMs.

Damn. So kinda boring right? Haha

Cf i would bet against working. The root method that linked back to xda is correct and is only a few more steps then using cf autoroot.

You can flash Xposed official for 7.0 using flashire to customize the device.

Here's what I did.
I went to Odin, flashed CF autoroot, then all this junk came up and nothing happened. My phone didn't reboot. OEM and USB debugging are on too.

This device requires a Eng boot in order to gain root, then a bat file is ran...

Are you still hung up on running the batch file?

If you have windows 10 you apparently have to run it from a command prompt.

Do do that you press the windows key on the keyboard to open the start menu. Then type 'cmd' and you should see 'Command Prompt' in the list. Right click on that and select 'run as administrator'. Not sure if you need to elevate permissions but it won't hurt.

From the command prompt window you type CD <path to folder where you saved the batch file> and then type the full name of the batch file and press enter. That should run it, or give an error screen explaining what the problem is. Either way let us know how you make out.
