Many kernels have display tweaking options. For instance, I use franco kernel, and his franco kernel updater app lets you adjust the display. You can also load profiles made by others.

The app display tester can then be used to measure the changes you've made.

Ughhhhhhhhhh... From the OP of the Franco kernel thread at XDA:

Currently does not work with recent CyanogenMod nightlies or any rom has uses CM sources as a base because they made underlying changes that are now incompatible with Kernels that don't follow their path.

Thats on CM, they're not compatible with AOSP

according to the OP of elementalx kernel it also has color gamma adjustment support. you can use franco kernel updater app with it to tune color correction.

Good results so far. I've underclocked and undervolted my CPU while fixing my gamma issue

No mods necessary. It's under Settings > (under Device) More... > Display calibration > Color calibration.

It starts with the 05-04 nightly and is not in the M6 release.
