Rooted G1 vs. Cliq

Is there a reason for me to trade in my rooted G1 for a cliq? I used a driod yesterday and didnt especially like the keyboard and am a t-mobile slave anyway.

Is the cliq better, faster, smarter, stronger? Is it worth switching up and then re-rooting. I like the cyanogen and would want that on whichever phone I switched to in the future.

All advice is very welcome. thanks.

If you're happy, stay with what you have. However, I have heard from people that had a love affair with the G1 that they love the Cliq way more.

I am in the same position. I sold my G1 phone long time ago because my work gave me Google Developer version phone, unlocked. So I am debating whether to get a cliq or not. I did go to check cliq and I love it.

I am kinda awaiting Sonyericsson.

What you guys need to do is go to a t-mobile store and get the device in your hands and mess with it and the keyboard. As g1 users we are used to having our keyboard spaced out and easy pressing. With the Cliq the keyboard is compressed and the "T" and "Y" are pretty hard to get with out your fingers catching the edge of the top. This can be fixed over time with you getting used to the keyboard. Also, I've read that the battery life is worse than g1. Another thing is the phone is actually smaller than G1. Back to my original point get the device in your hands and play with it for 10 or 15 mins. Pretend you are texting and doing daily use things.

If it makes any difference I own both and will probably keep it that way.... I like the flexibility of the G1 but the performance of the Cliq was just SO much better even though im running a cyanogen build on my G1.... so I basically use the Cliq as my everyday phone and G1 for everything else..... Cliq is worth the purchase but not worth ditching the G1 if that makes sense to anyone.......

I tried both the CLIQ and the G1 and prefer the G1. The screen is a little bigger, I'm able to get the turn by turn on the GPS and some other features the CLIQ doesn't offer. the camera on the G1 is 3.0 megapixel and does a good job. It's just a nicer phone all the way around.
