i rooted my behold ii and everything seems the same is that normal ?

yes, rooting your phone gives you "Root Access" so you can change protected files and mod your device

If I root my phone, will I still get the 2.0 update from T-Mobile when it comes out?

you should still get OTA updates unless you install a custom ROM. none are available at the moment so you should be good.
