Rooted Phone... HELP!?

I bought a phone yesterday night off a person who i thought i could trust. Went to the Verizon Store and they Notified me that the phone was Rooted. I went to do a hard reset on the phone and now the phone wont even Go back to the main screen. It only shows the First page on start up. The phone i bought was a Droid 1st Gen. Is there anyway possible to fix this? And Get it Unrooted So I can ACTIVATE and use the phone?

FWIW, that phone is relatively easy to deal with in these matters. So long as you can power it up long enough to see the "M" from Moto, you're likely in a fixable position. Just read all the warnings and instructions copiously before you decide to do anything, as toying with ROMs always carries some level of risk.
