Root Rooted phone - what now?

JStar13

Hi guys,

I rooted my Samsung Galaxy S Advance (2.3.6 Gingerbread) yesterday and have SuperSu on my phone. I've read a lot online about flashing roms and what not but I'm not really sure where to start.

What should I be doing now with my newly rooted phone? Any suggestions would be very much appreciated! :)

Hi JStar13, and welcome to Android Forums :)

We actually have an FAQ thread in place that I hope will at least get you pointed in the right direction: http://androidforums.com/faqs/617220-youve-went-rooted-phone-now-what.html

We also have a root-related subforum for the Galaxy S Advance (I9070) here, though it's admittedly a bit sparse: S Advance - All Things Root - Android Forums

I hate to point you away from our site, but the subforum for your device over at XDA Developers appears to be a bit more populated: Samsung Galaxy S Advance I9070 - XDA Forums

I'd suggest that you check that one out to see if you can find what information/ROMs/kernels you need, but feel free to post back here at AF if we can help you out along the way. :)

Good luck!

What have ya learned in the past few weeks? Have ya got a comprehensive host file? Have you found Xposed and modules, Greenify, AFWall, a custom Rom, kernel, init.d scripts, themed 'stock' apps, dnsmasq or dnsqache, an entropy generator?
The wonderful wide world of root.
Jesus' bootloader is unlocked in heaven.
God bless AF n xda
