Root Rooting and cleaning

BEFORE YOU ROOT BACKUP YOUR ROM WITH CWM!!!!

I used gingerbreak1.2 and rooted fine. Can't unroot though. Data mms and everything work though.

Metro apps are not removable via titanium backup. Use a root explorer ( i only got Root Explorer by Speed Software to work but its a paid app...) and look in cust->metropcs->us->app delete all of the ones you dont want. i keep metro app store just in case.

you will need root explorer 2.16 to make read/write work in the metro folder.

I actually rooted mine using Gingerbreak, then mounted the phone using the ADB Shell from the Android SDK and removed MOST of the MetroPCS stuff except the AppStore and Metro Navigator (I can use the GPS for when I'm out and about )

I have rooted my M835 with Gingerbreak, allowed root explorer and Titanium Backup w/ Superuser, still cannot remove default apk's - With root explorer , whether mounted as r/o or r/w - I receive error message: Loopt_V4.0.7_05022011.apk cannot be deleted because the system is read-only. - This happens with all apk in the /cust/metropcs/us/app folder.
I attempted uninstall with titanium, on loopt and other apps, says the apk's cannot be found.

I have installed the Android SDK, and eclipse software as I am going to try my hand at app development. How do I get into the phone and remove the apps with the SDK?

The M835 will be my test phone while learning all these Android tools. I purchased the Samsung Admire for my everyday phone, any tips on speeding up that phone?

Try rooting and overclocking, I haven't seen muh roms for that phone anywhere
