I have the s6 g920a, and the biggest issue with the phone is the damn locked bootloader - which will likely never be cracked due in part to the Exynos cpu, which is completely proprietary and closed off to developers - since it's a Samsung CPU, it's specific to Samsung products and not made available to external developers.
There's likely security holes to be found, but there's no one looking for them on these devices, it seems. Most people just gave up on AT&T-branded devices because of the locked down bootloader shenanigans. (Maybe you can try your luck with http://wyckedroot.com/) I do, however, have a suspicion that Samsung provides some way to reset the bootloader, likely through some sort of factory mode that is initiated through a tethered boot - not something that we will ever get our hands on. It's fun to dream about what this device would be capable of, without all the locks in place, but it's just not in the cards - at least not yet.
If you're trying pingpong root then I'm assuming you don't want to trip the KNOX counter. Using Odin may help but I don't know if your trying to keep your device under warranty or you use samsung pay (dependent on KNOX).
