This is a link to the thread about rooting the Iconia Tab 8. I can confirm that I was able to tether-boot the Acer Iconia Tab 8 A1-860 into CWM in Linux and successfully root the tablet via flashing the SU zip file. If you have Linux and the A1-860, just search the thread for jhofseth to see more info; most users use the Windows resources on the first page. Good luck!
