Rooting Motorola Moto E4 XT1767

Lurker
I know that Motorola Moto E4 comes in multiple variants, including XT1763 (sold in Brazil with Dual-SIM and MediaTek MT6737, but no compass), XT1766 (sold in EU with NFC, Single-SIM and MediaTek MT6737), and XT1767 (sold in USA with Single-SIM and Snapdragon). Therefore I wonder: does rooting (especially unlocking bootloader) work differently on the different variations of the phone?

I have XT1767 version bought prepaid from Verizon, so I am especially interested in it. Internet is full of guides, but not all of them specify which model they  apply to. I heard that Verizon is notorious for making it hard to unlock their phones, but is there really nothing I can do?

I have seen a post by @andMego, but unfortunately he does not specify which version he has, neither provides much detail about the process he followed (instead fixes issues with his own device).

Thank you.

There is no way to root the Verizon version. I have the unlocked US model.
To root the international versions you basically do fastboot oem unlock and then flash TWRP and root.
My original E4 had bad ghost touch issues so I had to get a new one and I haven't unlocked the bootloader yet.

What if i get the Verizon version unlocked? Like Verizon was to unlock it for me. Could we then get it rooted?

I'm trying to root my Moto E4 and nothing I've tried I've found is working. If anyone has any ideas or know plz let me know thx Mr.moto

I'm assuming you mean your bootloader can't be unlocked in which case you can't possibly root under any circumstances, give up. If that's not what you mean can you give more details? What's your model number and carrier?

Is it possible to flash unlocked version firmware in verizion version of moto e4?

Absolutely not. You can probably access and issue commands using mfastboot on a VZW variant, but if you do one thing it doesn't like you're VERY likely to end up with a permanent brick. Verizon goes above and beyond with locking their phones down and will never give you unlock key.

Is it possible there's a thread on the rooting method for the Moto e4 plus with metro PCs? Maybe a non-pc method of root? o_O

I studied the Venovo forums half a day since they request not to duplicate a question already resolved.
1. I ridntv research this model
2 I believe my questions are not rambling, but short & to the point.
3. This model, upon wandering around forums has a sackful of problems. Mine paled in comparison. When Mr. Venovo (can't make it up) contacted I could feel the chip on his shoulder all the way here in Texas. My question or request, can I have my flashlight & camera flash? Nope hardware. My second question, why a phone that's been on the market FOURTEEN YEARS wouldn't be tossed in the "Oops that didn't go well" can? Just want my 4 week old phone to have whatww promised .Samsung here I cone

I want to apologize for my spelling errors. Have the beginning stages of macular degeneration.

It's OK.. As for your device issue, hardware defects are indeed possible, just not usually common.. Your case may have just been the luck of the draw. I've bought starters and alternators (car parts) brand new (not remufactured ones) that were defective. Usually a quick change out for a new one is all that's needed to fix the problem and continue with the day.
