"Rooting" my phone?

Very new to this forum, hello all. I am trying to get some feedback on rooting my phone. Both pros and cons would be appreciated. I have a Motorola Droid Global 2. I would like the ability to acquire 3rd party apps if this is possible, any drawbacks to going through with this? Thanjs

Hello, tyson14136 and welcome to AF. The pros. You gain full administrative control of your device, from completely removing and changing your operating system, to removing pre-installed carrier bloatware and moving apps to the SD card despite that not being possible before root. The cons. You void your warrinty and risk bricking your phone which is a term used when the phones software has been altered to the point where the device is no longer functioning and the phone takes on the functionality of a brick. You should really think about this if you want to go through with this because rooting is also a choice too. Here is a link to learn more about rooting.
