Rooting on 2.1

Tried a number of apps including z4root but can't seem to root 2.1.
Anyone done it?

I tried a couple of others first and they didn't work.
Z4root worked for me though.

May be I didn't wait long enough, but it just seemed to be busy for a couple of minutes, and so I assumed it had hung. Did you have to wait 5-10 minutes for it to process whatever it does?
