Hey fellow android addicts,

This is my 1st post in this section ;) I've migrated from the s3 section.

I was wondering if anyone has used the rooting, EFS back up and Philz Recovery listed in this post http://androidforums.com/s5-all-things-root/817319-galaxy-s5-all-things-root-guide.html and if they ran into any problems.

Also, what sequence should it be done. For example i'm thinking - root > back up EFS > flash Philz Recovery, in that order?

I've done a lot of ROM flashing on my s3 but i want to be sure before i go and do it as this device is only been in my hands for a few hours and don't wanna make a mess of it :p

Thx for any replies :smokingsomb:

glad to see you here now we just need funky and sale to come over :) i would recommend the below guide from xda, i unfortunately have not had a chance to try it out myself as my s5 has not come yet, wanted the quadcore version so had ordered it from USA and my friend was supposed to come down but his plans fell through and now the phone is stuck there :(

the order you have mentioned is correct.

Hey Silent,

Nice to see you're in this section now m8 and hope you get your device soon ;) Like you said, all we need is the funkmeister and Sale to come over and join us :D

I had to send my device back as there was a fault with the plastic back cover  but i got it back yesterday and rooted it this morning. Done EFS backup and flashed Philz and it all went well, wooohooo. I'm back in the game hehe.

The nandroid back up i done was 3.3 GB with no apps apart from the stock crapware

Nice to see you anyway m8

damn that's quite big, im counting the days till i get the phone unfortunately dont have anyone coming down who can get it for me, but im planing a trip end july so worst case will pick it up myself then.

I also have the G900F as soon as I got my phone , two hours later it was rooted and ready to go :smokingsomb:

Too bad I was not able to answer your question before, I was not reading the S5 threads ( I have a talent for rooting phones , I can do it with my eyes close ) thanks to an amazing group of guys from NeatROM who show me everything I know :) they were the best teachers
