Sprint GS3.......Is it possible to root a phone through ftp sites? If so what sites have what I'll need? I don't have a working desktop right now. But I can use ftp through ghost commander app on my phone.

From my experience with Samsung phones, they're a piece of work to root, in my opinion. Most of the methods I know of require Samsung Kies running on a desktop, so ftp is not an option. Sorry
