Rooting with custom ROM vs Tizen update

OK, I thought I would share my thoughts on this subject, for those that maybe are still on the fence of which to do. I rooted my Gear One and then flashed the Null_23 ROM. Having Apex, Nova Launcher, and TouchWiz launcher seemed kind of cool to begin with. I got some random crashes sometimes...but nothing major. The screen is way to small to really do anything on here...browse the internet with a browser on this screen is a joke. So, basically, I can see absolutely no reason to root this thing and run the ROM on here. I gained no benefit at all from rooting and the ROM.

I then flashed the Tizen update. I used the Poland one from this thread at XDA [ROM][V700] V700XXUCNE9 / 2.2.1.1 Tizen / Poland / May 2014 - xda-developers and I love this update. My Gear runs smooth and is now colorful. For me, updating to the new Tizen update hands down beats rooting and run the Null ROM. Maybe this might help someone and maybe not...this is just my own opinion and yours may differ. :D

How did you.update the watch with it being rooted? I cannot update mine because it's been 'modified' and attempting to flash stock firmware with ODIN freezes at 'zimage'
