Is rooting game specific, or not? Will it mess up the way my phone works now? I wanted to root my phone for haxplorer to use on candy crush. Good idea or bad?

Rooting is phone specific. Once rooted any app on your phone can then request superuser permissions. There are some risks associated with rooting, but mainly being able to give apps higher level access to your phone can be dangerous if those permissions are given to the wrong apps. That being said, most apps that you would find on the play store market are probably safe (always read feedback), and all apps you have to install third party (not from the play store market) should be trated with skepticism and care. You can read more about the dangers of root here.
And because it's not all dangers... read about the good things here.

I would encourage you not to pirate games or hack them in ways that would take money away from the developers. They are just trying to earn a living! Honestly, hacking the game takes the fun out of it, just keep trying and enjoy your bragging rights when you eventually complete the levels on your own! Good luck!
