Route 66 Sat Nav Problem

Route 66 problem....
Background:
I was a keen user of TomTom on Windows Mobile.
I can't get TomTom on Android and TomTom appear to have gone silent about a promised release due ""soon"".
On my Galaxy S2 I have tried most Sat Nav apps and ended up buying CoPilot Premium. This is OK, but NOT as good as TomTom IMHO.
I have downloaded and tried Route 66. It is excellent and also IMHO better than Copilot - at least it could be - apart from one big problem.

Using Google Maps, Copilot and all other GPS software, the positioning is absolutely perfect.
Using Route 66, the software always places me about 25m behind my actual position.
This may not sound much, but in built up areas with lots of closely spaced side streets this it is a nightmare. The street I am turning into is the one ahead of the one the software has placed me.
On roundabouts it plays comedy catch up as I take an exit and then, exhausted, settles back to following me at a distance of 25m

Other GPS apps work perfectly - so why can't Route 66?
