Ruby programmer here.
I wanted to know if jRuby is a good alternative to using java for android development. I tried using rhomobile and it had limited functionality with android.

Honestly, I don't know much about Ruby, but the Android SDK requires the use of Java as it is a collection of APIs built specifically for the java platform.
