Ruggedized phone on sprint

I am looking for an dumb ruggedized phone for my father. I don't care how old it is. I have been verizon customer for years and years. And I know nothing about sprint phones.

Any suggestions would be great, looking to purchase used from somewhere.

not many..

but it might be easier.. to find a good phone for him... then buy a cheap rubber case from amazon
 
Can he use a Nextel phone? Most are ruggedized. Sprint and Nextel phones can be on same plan but Nextel will not roam so someplaces may not have service.

The Motorola Renegade V950 is ruggedized and runs on the Sprint system.
 
Also, I read the other day that Sprint is going to be getting 2 or 3 new rugged/military grade phones in the next few months, as they switch the push-to-talk over to CDMA. Two were Motorola's and and was (i think) kyocera/sanyo... I think they're supposed to drop Q3.
 
I have a Sanyo pro 700 that I will be willing to give you. I stopped using it a LONG time ago, but it still works.
