Android studio is usually the software used for creation, editing and debugging.
And unfortunately Android studio is not made to run on your TV set.

However read the article and you'll see the comments from the developer that specifically mentions Android Studio.
So yes, you're going to need Android Studio running on a windows or Mac device before you can alter anything...
