RunKeeper on HTC EVO 4G Solution?

thebeacon

Lurker
Wondering if anyone else having issues with RunKeeper on EVO 4G? I love the app concept the only problem is app itself is complete junk. Everything that could possibly go wrong with the app does. First it slows the phone down to a crawl after I have used it for around over 30 minutes. App would just crash running in the background in the middle of workout with no message of any kind, no "force close", nothing. The good thing is that even if the app crashes is saves a workout up until the last point. But then it would never be able to upload workouts to the server because of the mysterious "Slow Network" problem.

It seems that the app was designed by someone who never workouts and definitely cannot be relied for keeping track of workouts.

I had it for over six months and there seems to be not many apps available that is worth while installing to keep track of workouts.

Great concept for the app and the Elite feature looks like a great way to stay focused and achieve fitness goals. The only problem is the app is completely useless.

I have been researching what might be causing app to just quit in the middle of the workouts without a trace.

What I do know is that I use Pandora radio and google maps while the runkeeper is running in the background. If there is a comparable app I would gladly pay for it.

Any suggestions on how this might be resolved would be appreciated.

I bought Endomondo for 10 cents last week during the Market promotion. It seemed to work well and is comparable to Runkeeper. However, I still stick with Runkeeper and shelved Endomondo. I like the audio cues better. There are occasional glitches but not enough to cause me to drop it yet.
