Runner needs BT and band help

I want to take my phone running with me to use a GPS tracking app but cords really get in the way. Can anyone recommend some sort of blue tooth device that will be suitable and stable for running? Also, know of any good arm bands? I have a Nexus 4.

I use the Avantree Jogger Sports Bluetooth Headset. Works pretty well. I would recommend it. You may occasionally get an audio drop out (of a second or so) under certain conditions, but that can happen with any BT device. And it seems to be pretty rare with this one (compared to friends who have other models). And it easily makes up for losing the chord. Frankly, once I have the headset and arm band situated, it's pretty drop out free.

Armbands are all a little slipshod, but I have the Arkon Sports Armband. The touch screen operates fine through the protective plastic cover. With the phone, it seems a bit heavy (compared to small mp3 players I have previously used), but I eventually found that putting it a bit further up my arm made it pretty comfortable.

I'm a runner and I use a runner fanny pack.

No it's not the 1984 style you might be thinking of. I believe it's made by Nathan, who makes alot of running accessories. Look on Amazon for it. There are several styles, but I have the really slim one. Made of neoprene and fits snug so it doesn't shake when I run.

I bought a Nike one but my GS3 didn't fit. I love the Nathan and never run without it. I can carry my phone, a car key, and some change nicely in it without ever noticing it.

As far as cords getting in the way...I just run the cords under my shirt and down to the fanny pack. That's honestly the best and easiest solution I've found.

Look into my reviews (in the signature). At the high price level you can get Jaybirds BlueBuds X - kind of pricey, but great quality. For a more all around you can go with Tone+ HBS730 - for running these will work, but not for heavy jumping or decline bench press. Anker just released their sports wireless BT4.0 headphones (similar to Jaybirds in design), very good sound quality, super long battery life, just need a special clip for charging (ianker.com has back-to-school special with coupon to get these for $55.99). Plus, Plantronics just released BackBeat Go 2 with an extra charging pack. I'm waiting for a review sample to report how it works.

So, you have a lot of choices at different price ranges. You can even check out AfterShokz Bluez I reviewed (in the signature link as well) - those use unique bone-conductive technology so you don't even have to put anything in your ears while still hearing the music ;)
