Is it possibly to run apps from the memorycard or is it only for files like photos and stuff like that ?

As far as I know, you can't run programs from the SD card. Some apps will allow you to move bits of them to the SD card, though not as much as in the old Gingerbread Apps2SD days. Some apps, like games, will often make use of the SD card for storing large data blobs without your even having to set it up as a preference. Basically, the SD card is for data, of whatever type.
