Running.? Kinda

I am in the market to buy a treadmill, something for under $350. I want to run more, but also want to have the comfort of my home while not being outside (because I run at night) and have the lugery of playing on my tablet while running. I have never owned a treadmill before, only used them while in school, but I do not need one that fancy, (Unless they are for a good price in budget.)

Do any of you have any recommendations for me as to what one to buy? Amazon links will be the best!!

I really can not recommend you the treadmill, but here is an advice. First, consider if you are really going to use it or if it's going to stand in the corner for a year after 1 week use. And here is where I'm going with it. I've seen so many treadmills standing in basements and corners unwanted, you can probably score a good deal on craigslist on almost new equipment.

I personalty think cycling is much better, you build muscles, burn fat and it's much easier on your joints.

You make a good point. I may be able to get one online for cheap. Cycling is great too, I may do that too, but will it be as beneficial as running?

Cycling and running as close as it is, it's very different. as I said Cycling is less harmful because to your joints. Cycling train hamstrings but does not do much to your quads. Cycling to jogging is an approximately 4:1 ratio so if you run 10 miles, it's equivalent to cycling 40 miles.

I really don't know what do you mean by "beneficial". Both burn calories well. Cycling is cardio and strength while jogging is mostly cardio.

The hardest and best sport of all I think is swimming. You burn calories like crazy, you work muscles, cardio and get very flexible and there is a minimum joint stress.
