S/W Update blocked

Galaxy SIII - S/W update won't work.
Security S/W message saying that application is blocked.
Maybe malware. May need reference on some good android debugging SW for my PC.

This device was manufactured in 2012.
I don't think updates will happen.

Security SW tells me that it blocked something each time it boots but of course like most SW
today, it doesn't tell me what it blocked.

Maybe it's trying to ping an update server that's no longer online, and it's assuming it's blocked? Any updates for S3 went away long ago.

The last officially released firmware for the SIII is 4.4.x (KitKat). If you phone is running that you're as current as that phone will get. There are third-party ROMs based on newer versions of Android available but you will have to root your phone to flash them.
