In general I have lost most of the "new mobile phone" enthusiasm. When I had Galaxy S2, turning ON the wifi or GPS would kill the phone's battery in mere 30 minutes. An upgrade to S3 or S4 made very noticeable difference. But for the past 4 or so years, they reach the point where I really don't see a lot of difference, especially when comes to apps. My S8+ and now S10+ run my music apps, sports apps and social media apps in the same manner. Battery holds against streaming Spotify and GPS very well so even if I get down to 20 or 10%, by then I will usually get to a place I can recharge my phone with ease. So, the phones do not improve my apps experience, the thing that I now care about is how do they sync with my cars, what is the camera capable of and what is the storage. That's why I skipped the S9+ and Note 9, given the upgrade wasn't very substantial.
I changed to S10+ because I really liked the punch hole camera, the new Samsung's UI, and of course storage and camera. The phone is also much lighter and slimmer in Samsung's original clear view case than my previous S8+, and while I do enjoy the phone, I really wish for something truly groundbreaking in the future, other than just marginally better specs.
