Help S3 Dropping Data connection

Hi all.
Have been searching and researching the forums over and over. Normally I've never actually posted here as I have little technical knowledge beyond basic settings and can normally find the answer to my problems with a search of these forums.
My problem is that my phone keeps dropping the data connection when connected through my carrier. It shows up as having full reception and the little 'H' symbol comes up but for some reason everything times out. When I restart the phone it works fine again. Give it 15 minutes and it will start happening again. I noticed it today while on lunch and my friend who is on the same carrier with an S2 was having no problems with his connection. Am I doing something wrong or is there a way to test what is causing this? It is really frustrating to have a new phone and not be able to use the internet when I want to.
I haven't read about this problem with the S3 yet, hopefully it's my carrier and not the phone.

the S2 had this problem, Now it depends on what network your on, Most have had problems with the micro sim many people have cut them or they have come from a Iphone now for some reason ones its been in a iphone it causes problems, Vodafone use there red box to transfer stuff over eg telephone numbers to a new sim then every thing works, I have no idea why this
But i would try changing the sim
Allso try re logging back in on to the network
settings>mobilenetworks then do a search in network connections this will re connect you this can some times sort the problem out

Thought I would give an update on this problem. I put my partners sim card in my phone on the same carrier and it worked fine, put my sim back in and it has worked fine ever since. Possible it was just a one off incident. I know that the phone towers in my area are known for being a bit dodgy, one week we had no data connection at all due to the towers so it may have been carrier related or taking the sim out and in may have done something to fix it. I'll post back again if I experience the problem again.
Other than that I love the phone, haven't been getting any of the problems others have mentioned. If anything the battery life is better than anything I've had before, perhaps with the exception of the iPhone 3 I had a few years ago (that thing went for days)

Having the same problem here.

Since yesterday the connection appears for a few seconds, sometimes long enought to fetch my emails and is gone again.

Did a hard reset and that did not help.
Called my provider and they say everything is ok with SIM card.
